Figo backs Real Madrid for La Liga

24 April 2012 04:29

Former Portugal international Luis Figo believes Real Madrid have one hand on the La Liga title after Saturday's victory over Barcelona.

The Santiago Bernabeu outfit defeated their Catalan arch-rivals 2-1 in the Clasico at Camp Nou to move seven points clear at the top of the table with only four matches remaining.

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola conceded the title to Madrid after the match, and Figo, who played at both clubs, does not think that Los Blancos will slip up again.

"Real Madrid will be champions," Figo told reporters on a visit to a school in Sintra.

"With the advantage they have secured, it will be very hard for the title to slip through their fingers."

Madrid will host Sevilla in their next La Liga fixture, while Barcelona visit Rayo Vallecano.
