Copa Libertadores wrap: Corinthians, Fluminense stroll into next round

Fluminense and Corinthians both won their final group games in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday having already progressed to the next phase.

Fluminense edged 10-man Arsenal 2-1 away from home thanks to Rafael Moura's stoppage-time winner to make sure of top spot in Group 4 with 15 points.

Boca Juniors, who were also already safely through, finished second in the group after a 2-0 win against Zamora, their fourth straight in the competition.

Nicolas Blandi scored the opener with Juan Riquelme adding the second in the 74th minute.

In other Group 6 games, Corinthians romped to a 6-0 win over Venezuela's Deportivo Tachira while Mexican side Cruz Azul were comfortable 4-1 winners against Paraguayan side Nacional.

Corinthians finished top of the group on 14 points ahead of Cruz Azul (11), who also progressed.

The Brazilian side had six individual goal scorers in Danilo, Paulinho, Jorge Henrique, Emerson, Liedson and Douglas and scored three in the final 20 minutes after Andres Rouga was sent off for Deportivo on 35 minutes.

Cruz Azul's progression had already been assured before they easily accounted for Nacional.

Fourteen of the 16 spots in the second round have been decided with the last two to be determined from Group 1, of which Brazil clubs Santos and Internacional are the favourites.
