MEXICO CITY (AFP) - Mexican striker Adolfo Bautista may not make the cut for his country's World Cup squad - but he'll certainly be in South Africa this summer after winning a trip for two to the event in a competition.
Guadalajara star Bautista, in a pre-squad of 26, was one of 22 winners drawn after the competition run by the Mexican branch of a British bank, media reports said on Wednesday.
Reforma newspaper reported that Bautista's name was on the list of winners on the bank's website and added the player had not commented on his prize but merely greeted the news with a smile.
It remains in the hands of Mexican coach Javier Aguirre, who is to unveil the final 23-man squad at the end of the month, as to whether Bautista will attend the jamboree as a player or a spectator.
