England face Bulgaria in Euro 2012 opener

TEL-AVIV (AFP) - England will begin their 2012 European Championship qualifying campaign with a home game against Bulgaria in September, after the Group G fixture schedule was revealed here on Thursday.

Fabio Capello's side, who will go into the 2010 World Cup as one of the favourites, welcome Bulgaria to Wembley on September 3 before travelling to second seeds Switzerland on September 7.

England's trip to neighbours Wales falls on March 26, 2011, with the return fixture set to occur on September 6, 2011.

The fixtures were decided by a random draw during the UEFA Congress after the five Group G teams failed to agree on an acceptable schedule.

England will conclude their campaign with an away match against bottom seeds Montenegro on October 7, 2011.
