Ivory Coast coaching job beyond Hiddink

Pulled out: Guus Hiddink has pulled out of the race for the coaching job for Côte d'Ivoire at the World Cup.

(GSM) - Former Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has pulled out of the race to lead Côte d'Ivoire at the World Cup this summer.

Hiddink wrote in his newspaper column on Saturday that taking charge of the African side temporarily would affect his commitment to Russia and Turkey, his current and future employers.

Turkey, who play friendlies against Ireland, Czech Republic and the U.S. at the end of May, will need the full commitment of the Dutch coach.

"If I had signed for Côte d'Ivoire, then I would have missed these games and to tell the truth I don't think that something for me to do,'' Hiddink wrote in De Telegraaf.

Philippe Trousier is another coach being linked to leading Côte d'Ivoire in South Africa.
