LILLE, France (AFP) - Lille's Ivory Coast international forward Gervinho will be out for between four and six weeks with a left knee injury, his club announced on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old attacker was forced off in the 38th minute of his side's 2-1 league victory at Rennes on Sunday after damaging ligaments.
Gervinho is the third highest scorer in the French top flight this season and a key player for the Ivory Coast national team, who will play at this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
Lille are currently third in France's first division and will take a 2-1 aggregate lead into the away leg of their Europa League round-of-32 tie with Turkish side Fenerbahce on Thursday.
