Guti explains Inter admiration

(GSM) - Guti's recent performances have shown he's back on track at the Bernabeu. However, in the first half of the season he spent a lot of time on the bench which caused him to consider an exit from Real.
The 33-year-old midfielder flirted with a move to Internazionale but decided to stay at Madrid.
Today, Guti reiterated he would join Inter “with open arms” to link up with Samuel Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder.
“I said that because Inter are a great team that I follow constantly and fondly,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Two of my best friends, Sneijder and Eto’o, play there. ‘Samu’ and I clicked many years ago when we were both little kids in Capello’s squad.
“Our footballing roads diverged , but our friendship has remained intact.
“As for Wesley, had I been a Real director or a coach I never would have sold him. But the club had different economic need and that’s what happened.
“Still, I’m happy for him because he can give Inter that little extra quality they were lacking.”
But Guti does not expect to pursue his dream of making a move to the Giuseppe Meazza before he retires from football after spending 24 years at his hometown club.
“I have never left Real and I think I will end my career here in 2011,” he concluded.
