Barcelona deny Fabregas reports

(GSM) - Barcelona have rubbished reports that they have reached an agreement with Cesc Fabregas to sign the Arsenal captain in the summer.
Reports in Spain had suggested Fabregas has already come to a verbal agreement with the Catalan giants and will sign a five-year contract in the summer.
Fabregas has always voiced out his love for Barca as he was a player in the youth academy at the club. However, Barca have moved quickly to deny the reports, insisting that they always approach the club before talking with the player.
A club statement read, "Given the exceptional repercussions created by the stories that have appeared in different media with respect to an agreement with Arsenal FC player Cesc Fabregas, Barca flatly deny that there have been any negotiations or agreements with the player.
"In accordance with Fifa regulations, FC Barcelona's contract policy has always made it a priority to negotiate with the club of origin before making any particular agreement with the player.
"FC Barcelona wishes to stress that it has always maintained excellent institutional relations with Arsenal FC."
Fabregas joined Arsenal in 2003 from Barcelona's youth academy and he has been linked with a return to the Catalan club. Still, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger insists he is not worried about the midfielder's commitment to the club.
