Dutch manager Dick Advocaat has been officially presented as new coach of the Belgian national team. The former Rangers and Holland boss also revealed parts of his philosophy, that should lead the 'Red Devils' to Euro 2012.

The 61-year-old, who was recently sacked by Zenit St. Petersburg, explained that it is dangerous to treat young players as big stars, as he believes is the case in Belgium.

"Young and talented players were considered stars much to soon here. Everybody was supposedly ready for Real Madrid and Barcelona. That star status has become a syndrome for these guys. They definitely have a lot of qualities already, but sometimes it shows and sometimes it doesn't. That has to do with their young age," according to the manager.

Advocaat does feel positive about the future: "These are all good players. I accepted this task because the selection is young and talented. Maybe I have different ideas than my predecessors. What is to happen, is something I'll discuss with them soon."

The coach was initially set to start in January, but arrives three months before due to the departure of Franky Vercauteren earlier this month.
