Both Olympiakos Piraeus and PAOK Saloniki left it until late to decide their Greek league matches with Atromitos and Xanthi respectively.
Olympiakos, who shared their lead with Panathinaikos ahead of this match, struggled to make a difference at Atromitos but eventually netted the winning goal, 1-0 through Oscar Gonzalez in the 80th minute.
PAOK needed even longer to take distance from Xanthi, as Serbian midfielder Vladimir Ivic found the target in the last minute of regular time, 1-0.
On Sunday, Panathinaikos host Panionios in the Greek capital Athens and need a win to rejoin Olympiakos at the top.
