Barcelona victorious in Copa del Rey

Barcelona's Pedro scored twice

FC Barcelona did better than arch rivals Real Madrid in their Copa del Rey match with Cultural y Deportivo Leonesa on Wednesday, beating the Segunda B side 0-2 in the first leg.

Both goals at Leon's Municipal Reino de Leon stadium were scored by Pedro. The talented forward first netted in the 41st minute, and added a second in the 63rd.

With this result, the Catalans are with one foot in the next round, in which they were most likely to face Real Madrid. However, this remains to be seen following the latter's 4-0 defeat at Alcorcon on Tuesday.

Valencia visited CD Alcoyano in the neighboring province of Alicante, and left with a 0-1 win in the pocket. The only goal came from Joaquin in the tenth minute.
