Liverpool striker Andrei Voronin, seen here in 2007, said he has no interest in returning to struggling Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin despite his lack of first-team action on Merseyside.

LONDON (AFP) - Liverpool striker Andrei Voronin said Tuesday he has no interest in returning to struggling Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin despite his lack of first-team action on Merseyside.

Voronin, 30, hit 11 goals in 27 games for Hertha with four assists last season as Berlin challenged for the Bundesliga title while on loan from Liverpool.

But despite reports in the German media he is set to return to Berlin during the Bundesliga's close season in December, the Ukraine star has no desire to return to the German capital.

"Andrei is not interested in a transfer back to Hertha, we are not even considering that," his agent Andrei Golovasch told The Sun despite his client spending most of the season in Liverpool's reserves.

"Andrei does not have the notion to leave Liverpool.

The 30-year-old was on the bench for Sunday's 2-0 victory against Manchester United at Anfield.

"He wants to play here and show he can help the team," added Golovasch.
