Paul Le Guen will lead Cameroon to the World Cup, next year.

Paul Le Guen will lead Cameroon to the World Cup next year. After he managed to qualify for the World Cup with the Africans, he now has extended his contract with seven months.

Le Guen originally signed a five-month deal with Cameroon in July. The French coach succeeded Thomas N'Kono, who was the caretaker manager after Otto Pfister's dismissal in June.

Le Guen helped transform the team's fortunes to secure an African record sixth World Cup finals appearance for the Indomitable Lions. After two games, Cameroon were bottom of group A with just one point. The former Olympique Lyon coach then won four qualifying matches in a row to earn a place at Africa's first ever World Cup.

They will also participate in January's Africa Cup of Nations finals in Angola.
