Iraq failed to do what they needed to do to advance to the semi finals at the Confederations Cup, as the Asian champions drew 0-0 with New Zealand.
The New Zealanders were actually the slightly dominant side but lacked the precision needed to actually score a goal.
After the break, Iraq gained terrain and even created some significant chances late on. However, and sometimes with a bit of luck, New Zealand avoided the goal Iraq craved.
At full time, New Zealand celebrated their point as if they had won the final of a tournament, while many South African fans celebrated as the result saw their team through to the semi finals.
