Ghana forward Tagoe joins Hoffenheim

10 June 2009 00:35

German side TSG Hoffenheim have signed Ghanaian international striker Prince Tagoe from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq.

Tagoe, who spent most of his career in Saudi Arabia, entered the spotlights when being called up to the Ghana international team for the 2006 African Cup of Nations. Since then, the forward played 13 games for Ghana and scored 10 goals.

His performance drew attention from several European top sides such as Valencia, Villarreal and Fulham. Hoffenheim appear to have won the battle however.

TSG manager Jan Schindelmeister showed to be happy with the new acquisition. "Tagoe really fits our profile. He is young and talented. He is a technical player, who is two footed at that. At club and international level he has showed his scoring ability."

The 22-year-old signs a contract for three seasons.
