LONDON (AFP) - England defender Rio Ferdinand will miss Wednesday's home World Cup qualifier with Andorra as he is suffering from the calf injury which forced him out of Saturday's 4-0 romp away to Kazakhstan, media reports said Sunday.

The Manchester United star has been struggling for fitness since before last month's Champions League final loss to Barcelona and now the 30-year-old will concentrate on getting ready for next season.

A win against Andorra will all but take England through to the finals after they made it six Group Six wins in as many matches against the Kazakhs.

Coach Fabio Capello has opted not to bring in a replacement, and has just 21 players to choose from.

Midfielder Gareth Barry is out of the Andorra game with suspension after his yellow card in Almaty.

Let's start with the English football team for a nice coming back to soccerway .

I was just wondering why they dont use injured guys like Ferdinand against Andorra . He will fit well against such teams . I think England will deserve to go to the world cup just like a makeshift team , wish them good luck there to face not teams like Spain , Brazil , Italy , Argentina ...etc , and why not win the final against some Gabon and say they deserved the WC after the big teams will eliminate each other .

I have to take it easy today after I caught cold flu up north there in a sad city , Manchester, and go out for a walk to warm myself . Few hours outside to watch a ladies rugby game between England and Argentina enough to come sick . If the English will play the same way against the Ozzies they will be stunned again 76-0 like 10 years ago .

Oh more news this morning for people of Manchester , Nick Griffin got many people behind him to rally the BNP , some will say it's a sad day .
