A 3-1 defeat to Algeria leaves Egypt far away from next year's World Cup in South Africa. Instead, the Algerians take the lead in Group 3.

After a 1-1 draw with Zambia, pressure was on Egypt to do much better in Algeria. Things didn't go according to plan though, at least for the away side.

Karim Matmour put the hosts ahead on the hour mark and Abdelkader Ghezzal made it 2-0 a few minutes later. When Rafik Djebbour added a third in minute 77, Algeria knew that the three points were in the pocket.

Mohamed Abou Treka got one back late on but it simply wasn't enough for the Egyptians.

Algeria and Zambia share the lead in this group with four points each, and Rwanda and Egypt are stuck with only one point.

Zidane was turned down the chance to play for Algeria, Fact!

Egypt, this is unbelievable, this is a real rotten result. I don't know why they are so inconsistent.

Some countries like Algeria and Morocco if they play with their "own" players used by other national teams will be great nations of football , the example of Zidane or Benzema , Nasri , Benarfa who chose to represent France could give a lot to their home countries like Higuain who chose to play for Argentina and not France .
