Brian McBride may not play again this season after needing shoulder surgery

The season of Chicago Fire striker Brian McBride may have come to an end after underdoing shoulder surgery.

McBride formed an important part of Fire's team this season, but had been struggling with the injury ever since joining at the beginning of the year.

"He has been a warrior and has been fighting through it," coach Denis Hamlett told MLSnet.com.

McBride, who is expected to be out for three to four months, joined the MLS side after four years at Premier League club Fulham where he scored 40 goals in 153 appearances.

Well at least McBride will be able to spend more time with his bride! After all, when you just got hitched-up the LAST thing you want to be doing is putting on some shorts and runnin around chasing a soccer ball!

Actually, I'd almost think McBride is about as good as any recent US National. We can't judge who played a long time ago. I don't like it when people automatically just say so and so was the best. McBride certainly has been a sharp player.
