Asenjo joins Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid have agreed to sign goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo from Real Valladolid on a four-year contract, the Primera Liga club said on their website www.clubatleticodemadrid.com.

The Spanish under-21 international was secured for a reported fee of around 5.5 million euros and the loan of Atletico striker Diego Costa for next season.

The 20-year-old, who will be presented next Monday, comes in to replace the departed Leo Franco and Gregory Coupet, who have joined Galatasaray and Paris St Germain respectively.
