Mexes not going anywhere

Philippe Mexes is not leaving Roma

Serie A giants AS Roma's defender Philippe Mexes has dismissed rumours linking him with a move away from the Eternal City this summer.

The France international has been a reported target of Chelsea and AC Milan but insists his future lies in the Italian capital.

"I will remain at Roma," he said.

"It always gives me pleasure when a team is interested in me but I am happy at Roma."

Mexes is under contract with the Giallorossi for a further two seasons and is looking forward to the new campaign.

The 27-year-old made 29 league starts as Roma finished a disappointing sixth in Serie A last term.

"Last season was the worst one in my five years at Roma," he said.

"I wouldn't want to leave the club like this, I want to prove my worth."

Many people hold Mexes in high esteem as a defender and I don't really know why. He is tough and aggressive on the ball and he works for it, but he doesn't seem like a particularly successful defender. I've seen him play with France and Roma and I don't understand why so many like him.

Mexes is Greek and he has a lot of inner issues to resolve. He is beloved in Italy for both his looks & talent. For more info visit: http://pedromillan.blogspot.com/
