Westerveld fails medical test, deal to Utrecht collapses

Abhimanyu Rajput - 3 July 2009 12:11

Westerveld's move to Utrecht has collapsed due to a failed medical test.

Former Liverpool and Real Sociedad goalkeeper Sander Westerveld failed a medical test and consequently his move to the Eredivisie side has collapsed.

Westerveld has a long-standing knee problem and, according to doctors, "remaining damage in the joint".

Westerveld, however, insists he is fit and ready for action in the Eredivisie.

"I think that I can keep freely," Westerveld told AD Sportwereld.

Forgive me guys, but this story reminds me of the sale of my horse. It's business!

Fred,

Did you ultimately manage to sell your horse ? And what was wrong with it ?

Giorgio, I kept the horse for one more year. Then we had to put him to sleep. His leg's ligaments became so damaged that he couln't stand up any longer

I'd have Westerfeld in there for my team, even if he had a peg leg.
