Ronaldo deal done

Cristiano Ronaldo's world-record transfer to Real Madrid from Manchester United has been sealed, the Premier League champions have confirmed.

An "unconditional £80million" fee was agreed between the clubs last month and then came an announcement last Friday that the deal had been finalised and the World Player of the Year would become a Real Madrid player on Wednesday.

A statement on United's website stated the transfer fee has been paid, prompting manager Sir Alex Ferguson to pay tribute to the Portugal winger.

He said: "Cristiano has been a marvellous player for Manchester United. His six years at Old Trafford have seen him develop into the best footballer in the world."

"His contribution has been a major factor in the club's success in that time and his talent, his ability to entertain and his infectious personality have enthralled fans the world over."

"Everyone here wishes him well in his future career."

Is it true that RM has bought Benzema, too? I've heard it was done for 35mil EURO.

Spanish radio said €35 m to Madrid and Benzema joined us , ManUtd website said €45m to Manchester and the deal is almost done according to their media .

Madrid's website didnt report anything ....

So difficult to say anything ...... rumours , rumours . If ManU think about the future better they dont buy him because this boy will come to Madrid , competing with us will hurt their fans even if they offer more money , but if they want to make good business , it's good to buy him and who knows we will buy him more expensive . Madrid are not ready to spend that much money for Benzema what ManU are ready to give to Lyon .

Benzema's friend says he has already agreed to join Manchester United. It is just a question of him flying over to England and finding somewhere to live. Lots of rumours, it's hard to know which to believe. The price £38 million.

Benzema is another Galactico already. Now you will see pretty soon Xavi Alonso sign for Madrid too. They are just waiting for a clause to expire on his current contract. stayed tuned!

It will be interesting to find out whether this new version of the galacticos, the term having lately also acquired a negative connotation for having failed to deliver the anticipated success, will be able to jell into a powerhouse. If that happens, watch out world! If it doesn’t happen, it will be the usual case of having too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Whatever the case may be, Real Madrid are definitively loading up their side.

Anticipated success? I said already Real never go crazy to say we will win trebbles , quintuplets like ManU did , we talk about our history not about what we will do . But we say we will build a strong team and play beautiful football . Perez said it clearly also "I promise beautiful football " .

Immediate success followed at the begining of galacticos era with 2 Liga and Champuions league , but the an other important thing the financial success that time . But it was 4 players in 4 years and now it's 4 players in 1 month , I am not expecting immediate success but it will come ,it's a question of time . If not, we love our club we will give everything to save it from whatever will happen, what I want now is to see the guys who spoke a lot about Madrid as their dream , and see all those great players in 1 team .

Life is unfair , you spend your time doing good things and nice projects and what you get at the end ? Death ! And so is football you can end with nothing .

Benzema should be left to Manchester United to grow there , he is only 21 I think .

Hollyice. “Anticipated success,” most often than not, is a condition of fans’ expectations. After a build up like RM is going through right now, their fans expect results. Naturally you would not expect the club’s management to come up with a list of trophies they are going to win.
