Man City throw cash at Milan in Kaka bid: reports

AFP - 14 January 2009 04:25

Manchester City have offered AC Milan 100 million pounds (150 million dollars, 110 million euros) in cash in a bid to land former Ballon d´Or winner Kaka (seen here on Jaunuary 12), according to newspaper reports. Kaka has said he is unhappy with his role in the AC Milan team and would love to play in the Premier League.

LONDON (AFP) - Manchester City have offered AC Milan 100 million pounds (150 million dollars, 110 million euros) in cash in a bid to land former Ballon d'Or winner Kaka, according to newspaper reports.

A four-man delegation led by chief executive Garry Cook met top officials at Milan's headquarters Tuesday, where they offered to make the Brazilian player the highest paid in the world on 15 million pounds a year after tax, the Daily Mail and the Sun tabloids reported.

Silvio Berlusconi, Italy's prime minister and Milan's owner, has resisted previous attempts to lure Kaka away. But the player has said he is unhappy with his role in the AC Milan team and would love to play in the Premier League.

Interesting last paragraph, Kaka's unhappy as ACM and wants to go to the PL. It's always a revolving door, out goes one fine player in comes another. Man City have shored up their position, I'd like to see them be relatively successful, with all their players they fell into the drop zone not long ago. Now, they are probably around 13th, 12th or something.

Well, then I wonder if it's a misquote that a team of negotiators went there as well?

It seems that all the good players want to play in England. I wonder why? Most probably because it's the best league in the world.

"best league in the world" lmao

Most neutral fans would agree that Messi is the best player in the world. The EPL have NO CHANCE of signing such a talent.

The English are obsessed with constantly saying the EPL is the best league in the world. If they were so self-sure, it makes you wonder why they constantly say it... eh? lmao, clueless People think if they keep saying it, then it will become reality... It's called 'DESPERATION' and I think it may have something to do with their National team being GARBAGE.English clubs are selling themselves like filthy whores to the highest bidder.

The simple fact is there is NO "best league in the world" as it's all about opinions.I like to watch quality football, that's why I watch La Liga, as they have the best brand of football ..IMO.. And no amount of morons saying the EPL is the "best league in the world" is going to change my mind.

While the English clubs keep paying over the odds to bring mercaniaries like Robinho to the EPL.. La Liga will keep producing.

I wonder why all these quality players aren't playing in the EPL: Gonzalo Rodríguez,Capdevila, Cazorla,Senna,Maxi Rodriguez,Simao,Ramos,Gago,Sneijder,Guti,Drenthe,Huntelaar,Higuain,Van Der Vaart,Diarra,Albiol,Marchena,Miguel,Vicente,David Silva,David Villa,Joaquin,Juan Mata,Caceres,Marquez,Puyol,Keita,Daniel Alves,Abidal,Toure Yaya,Busquets,Iniesta,Etoo,Bojan,Messi?

Keep DELUDING yourselves kiddies ;-)

Oh, Champions League?? Excuse me, final 4 the last two years, 3 times PL teams, 2 final teams, winner is?? Excuse me?

idiotsense is probably best talent idiot and j-soccer, just a bunch of hate, England is in the top 10 Fifa teams, Sweaties hate England and tend to see Italy as being their savior.

Well , you are talking bullshit all of you . There's no best league in the world .The most difficult league to win is the Champions league . Till now the are 4 teams from Spain , 4 from Italy and 4 from England ,3 countries dominate all Europe which means those 3 leagues are all of them at the same level . Enough said .

If you want we talk more , then ask the best players in the world where they dream to play , to find out where is the best team .

ITalkSense has some sense, with Spanish having the best youth systems out of the big 3 .. but hollyice has the best saying with "There's no best league in the world" .. its Best because you say so .. not because it actually IS .. and BTW I'll tell you why more people would say EPL is best .. because its way more multi cultural ( I have nothing against that ) but I'm just saying why more people like .. because there's a chance that a foreign player would play in EPL and not in Serie A or LaLiga ..END OF STORY! - NO BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD ..how about we stick to best clubs ?? obvi MILANOO lol .. alright no hate I'm kidding .. but IMO they're the best =D maybe not now .. but History can talk for the times that I cant =P

I talk sense says some interesting things at times, anyway, I think Real Madrid have a big history too, but I wouldn't be a fan of theirs' anyway or at least not often.

what's Milan waiting for ??????!!!!!!

the Moon ?????!!!!!!!!

for that kind of money, i'll gladly throw in Inzaghi and a couple of the old farts for free !

15 January 2009 05:10

BesTalentScout .. oh yeah ??

Can you name one person that Milan can get that can replace kaka and dont say Messi or Ronaldo .. cuz they're impossible buys ..so name someone that will help us ??

I can only think of Aguero .. and he's amazing but I'm almost sure he won't be that big of a help .. although I wish for a Kaka Pato Ronnie Aguero attack line .. amazing ehh ??

but yeah give me one name ??

BesTalentScout

15 January 2009 11:55

Faysal.......

USD150M can buy you at least 5 world class players.................just nice to replace all the old farts and goats at Milan............

don't tell me 1 guy can do what 4-5 guys can..............even Maradona with 3 legs couldn't do that.............

Faysal1992

15 January 2009 22:04

BesTalentScout .. you know what's funny ?? you never mentioned any names .. you just gave me bigger numbers .. I am 100% with you on the 5 vs. 1 deal .. but now name just 5 players that can really help Milan .. I mean we'd have to replace literally a whole defensive line .. and BTW 150 does not buy 5 world class players .. the average world class player now a days is probably 30-40 million POUNDS! .. which means we can only probably buy 2 and if we're lucky enough maybe a 3rd guy .. i dont see that enough .. but then again its opinions
