Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez

Former Republic of Ireland and Liverpool striker John Aldridge has criticised Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez for his verbal attack on Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

On Friday, Benitez launched a scathing attack on Ferguson on a number of issues regarding fixtures and referees.

John Aldridge said that he felt that those comments could come back to haunt him. He added that to make matters worse his Liverpool side did not impress in their 0-0 draw against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.

He also told The Sunday World that if Benitez does not go on to win the League with Liverpool this season then he “lost the plot.”

All I heard Benitez say was Fergie could get away with griping about refs. That doesn't seem so bad, these stories seem to blow things up.

Rafa's bottle has gone. He's crapping himself because The Manchester Boys are going to take over at the top this weekend. He and thousands of Liverpool supporters will be crying in their beer Saturday night...LOL
