World Cup winner Denilson given trial with Bolton Wanderers
BOLTON (SW) - Brazilian footballer Denilson has been given a trial with English Premiership side Bolton Wanderers. This was announced by the club on Tuesday.
Denilson, who formed part of the Brazilian team that won the World Cup in 2002, was once the planet's most expensive player as Real Betis paid 21.5 million Pounds to sign the forward from Sao Paulo in 1998.
The now 31-year-old began his career at Sao Paulo in 1994 and played for Betis, Flamengo, Bordeaux, Al-Nasr, FC Dallas and Palmeiras since. He is currently out of contract, giving Bolton a chance to jump in without having to pay a transfer fee if they were to sign the player.
Wanderers also announced the contract extension of their Hungarian goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, who should not remain in Bolton until 2011.
