For the third time in a row, Ajax Amsterdam have been unable to win an Eredivisie match. Heracles held Marco van Basten's men to a 2-2 draw.

Ricky van den Bergh put the Almelo outfit in the lead after 12 minutes and Czech forward Vojtech Schulmeister doubled the advantage in the 31st.

Miralem Sulejmani then got one back in the 70th minute and Uruguayan Luis Suarez converted a penalty to equalise two minutes later.

AZ Alkmaar host Roda JC on Wednesday, and have an opportunity to extend their lead over Ajax from nine to eleven points.

Basten should have been sacked straight after this game.
