(GSM) - Palermo players Edinson Cavani and Nicolas Bertolo were the victims of a violent attack by local gangs yesterday. The duo stopped for a traffic light, when suddenly two persons on a motorbike appeared and opened fire on the car of the Argentine and the Uruguayan.
Cavani and Bertolo got away unharmed as none of the bullets reached the interior of the car. The two offenders left without a trace.
Cavani and Bertolo were interviewed by local police before returning home in the evening.
Palermo management will now seek to assure the duo of their safety, though both players have concerns for the security of themselves and their family.
