Cagliari: Barone "I start this adventure fired up"

Barone scored one goal in 16 Italy caps, winning the 2006 World Cup under Marcello Lippi.

The Sardinians completed the transfer last night on a permanent basis and he sent a message via the club’s official website.

“I want to salute my new fans. I am happy, I start this adventure fired up and very motivated,” said the 31-year-old.

“I tend to prefer action to words, but I feel that I can pledge the utmost effort, professionalism and focus that have always been a mainstay of my career.”
