Please tell me why England is listed 15th, when 13 and 14 are not mentioned? Is this site run by English people?

Croatia ahead of Argentina and Brazil is the joke of the year if not worse.

Fred, the site is run by Dutch people. This is why we don't hear much about Ajax's fall from grace!

Why is Netherlands rated below Italy when they blew them out 3-0?

What language is this part of soccerway in?

Also, maybe Argentina should try to defeat USA and Belarus instead of tying them!

If this were a website in Romanian or for the French speaking Cameroonaise, I am sure they would be mentioned as 13 and 14.

Here's the rankings link. Soccerway should screen out adverse remarks like goal.com.

My only suggestion is, maybe they should consider writing an article on the elo ratings too, http://www.eloratings.net/ . It's not a bad comparison tool.

I have just been reading the Italian version of soccerway, all stories in Italian. My, some people like to fuss. One just needs to switch languages in their personal settings.

http://it.soccerway.com/news/2008/September/03/ranking-fifa-italia-seconda-dietro-la-spagna See, Italy is stated as being 2nd in the FIFA rankings in the headline and England is not mentioned.

I think someone owes someone an apology.

Croatia 5th... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA FIFA ranking, like everything in football these days, is becoming a joke. I mean how can they top Argentina or Brazil? If France were 5th instead of them and Croatia 11th, that would count as reasonable but this is unreal. The point system must be the joke of the century!

I had no idea that my question would open a can of worms! At least, I'm not the only one complaining!

Here is the real World Ranking:

ITALY 7234

Brazil 45

Germany 31

Argentina 11

The rest don't count!

Giorgio, here is the formula:

PS. I computed it without using the calculator!

Fred,

That's truly brilliant !!!

Now we know that there is an esteemed mathematician in our midst. We must remember to tell FIFA to contact you before they release new World Rankings !!!!

it Should be Spain - Germany - Netherlands & they should remade the way the rank teams

Anyone who defeats Germany will do well in the rankings and Croatia did that rather handily; not that I like either of these two teams. The Germans get to the final of the Euro Cup even when they don't have the best of teams and one goal only defeated them. I like Spain, but I question the way Ballack got hurt in that game. It is too bad, that some of the leading teams have rotten tactics and then you hear their fans brag. Spain deserved to win and Torres had some magic and Germany as much as anyone in the past used some questionable tactics.

Croatia really had the most worst of luck against Turkey too. So, I realise that Serbia and Croatia are big rivals but Croatia did something not too many teams do by defeating Germany in the Euro. France for about the last 6 months has been limping along and realistically, Scotland should have had their act together to have gone to the Euro instead of France.
