SAN LUIS/CALI (SW) - San Luis FC of Mexico and Colombian side América de Cali won their home legs in the Copa Nissan Sudamericana and are close to a spot in the next round.
San Luis were too strong for Argentinos Juniors. Luna opened the score after 24 minutes and Moreno added a second sixteen minutes later. Pavlovich goal for 2-1 in the 78th minute does give the Argentinians some hope for the return leg.
América de Cali, who surprisingly played two matches at the same time - one in the Copa Sudamericana and one in the domestic league, beat Brazilian side Botafogo 1-0. The only goal came from Ramos in the 73rd minute.
Chivas de Guadalajara and Atletico Paranaense held each other to a 2-2 draw in Mexico. The Brazilians went ahead through Pedro Oldoni in the very first minute but Chivas' Arellano levelled six minutes later.
Antonio Carlos made it 1-2 on the hour mark but the home side again replied within a few minutes with Medina netting for 2-2.
Palmeiras Sao Paulo couldn't score at Peruvian side Club Sport Ancash, who held their opponents to a goalless draw.
