BELGRADE (SW) - Players of Serbian side Crvena Zvezda had their cars attacked by a group of local hooligans, who supposedly wanted to express their opinion on the club's recent results.

The players were in a meeting with new coach Cedomir Janevski at Belgrade's Marakana stadium, when the group managed to find their way into the car park, where they seriously damaged no less than twenty cars.

Guards, present at the car park, reportedly stood no chance against the thirty or so hooligans.

Cvrena Zvezda, one of Europe's most successful clubs in the late eighties, were thrown out of the UEFA Cup by Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia.

In the Serbian league, Crvena are currently in twelfth and last position after two defeats and a draw.

I'm not surprised at all! After playing so badly this season I was kind of expecting this. Zvezda should've been leading in Serbia so far and they were a disgrace for falling out of Uefa against APOEL!!! In Serbia, even a 2nd position is a failure for them because this means losing to Partizan as no other teams are capable on going for the title.

But this kind of hooliganism doesn't exist only in Serbia so don't start to call them a primitive country. It's the same with hooligans everywhere, you have incidents like this in Croatia, Italy, Germany,...
