Juve´s European return a miracle, says Nedved

ROME (AFP) - Juventus's veteran Czech winger Pavel Nedved said the Italian giants are back to their best, just two years after being demoted to Serie B for match-fixing.

Juve also began their Serie B campaign in 2006-07 with a points deficit but still came through to claim the title.

And last season Claudio Ranieri's team surprised everyone by finishing third in Serie A and qualifying for the Champions League.

"Juventus are ready to take on anyone, we're afraid of no-one," Nedved told the club's official TV station.

"Getting back into Europe in two years having started in Serie B was a mini miracle. Now we'll try to get to the (Champions League) final in Rome (in May)."

The 36-year-old was one of the stars who stuck with Juve when they were demoted.

While the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Patrick Vieira, Gianluca Zambrotta and Fabio Cannavaro jumped ship, Nedved joined Alessandro Del Piero, Gianluigi Buffon, Mauro Camoranesi and David Trezeguet in spending a season in Serie B.

And now he is dreaming of going out on a high in the twilight of his distinguished career.

"Getting back into the Champions League was vital. Winning it would be a dream for us and for our fans."

Well, I don't care what you call it, I'm glad you're back!

And they only had to fix a couple of games to get back...

Cile_car, I never went away.

Djordje, very good! But this time they fixed only one game!

Tonto, I'm glad Juve's back in Europe! :) But to see you here, that's a nice thing too.

Djordje, why do you think only Juve fixed the matches? If they did, why were other teams also punished?

Actually Juve never fixed any games. I think we should get this story straight, once and for all, because I'm getting tired of reading silly comments about Juve.

And maybe Juve will do ok in Champions Leage, they seem to have the right blend of youth and experience.
