ROME (AFP) - Genoa's new Argentine forward Diego Milito said he made the right choice in opting to come back to Italy instead of joining Juande Ramos at Tottenham.
The English Premier League team were in the hunt for strikers after selling Robbie Keane to Liverpool and with Dimitar Berbatov a certainty to head out the exit door.
But Milito opted to go back to Genoa, where he had played from 2003-04.
"I know I've made the right choice, this is my home and these are my people," said the Argentine when he arrived in Genoa to hoards of cheering fans.
His old Spanish club Real Zaragoza had offers from Spurs and Napoli but Milito claimed there was only one place he wanted to go to.
"I was against a move to Tottenham. I beat my fist on the table in order to wear this shirt again."
