Quaresma signs for Inter until 2013

Ricardo Quaresma, pictured in June 2008, has signed a five-year deal with Italian champions Inter Milan after joining from FC Porto on Monday.

ROME (AFP) - Ricardo Quaresma has signed a five-year deal with Italian champions Inter Milan after joining from FC Porto on Monday.

The Portuguese champions confirmed the deal would go ahead late on Sunday Portugal's under-20 international Pele going in the other direction to join Porto.

Inter have now rubber-stamped the deal that will see Quaresma wear the number 77 shirt.

The Italians will pay 18.6 million euros (27.2 million dollars) for the player with the sporting rights for the young midfielder established at six million euros (8.7 million dollars).

The winger started his career at Sporting Lisbon before moving to Barcelona in 2003/04 and then on to FC Porto. He scored eight goals last season.

I'm neither of the 2 you mentioned but I agree that Inter's a better choice than AC Milan. Although I still like Juventus. :)

Tonto, I've already pledged my support to Roma as my joint-favourite, but I admit that Inter is the team to beat in Serie A. We were so close in the Super Cup game! I'm looking forward to Milan-Roma. Che vinca il migliore!

I've always been an Inter fan, but today's squad is something that I can longer identify withi.e. not one single Italian !!!

We'll see how good they are in Champions League !!

Actually my team is Inter. Has been for a long time, i.e. after Monfalcone and Udinese.

But in recent years I've also become a Milan fan. And when they play the Milan derby I don't mind which one wins.

The most important this is that one of the two wins Champions League !!!

great steal for Inter....the reason he went cheap is cause he is very tempermental and can be rather individualistic...but he plays hard and is a team player when he is working for the special one (Mourinho). His attitude is often linked to his Gypsy upbringing, but no fear he will perform well for Inter. Impecccable crossing abilities with the outside of his foot. As for F.C.Porto, they're main goalscorer now will be the already fantastic Lisandro Lopes, or new acquisition known as simply "Hulk". They also have a strong contingent of low profile but highly skilled players that can get the job done. Watch out for them to do well in CL competition this year.
