Real looking at further tilt on Ronaldo

AFP - 12 October 2008 15:20

Manchester United´s Cristiano Ronaldo practices with the ball at the Maladiere Stadium in Neuchatel, Switzerland, June 2008. Real Madrid are still hoping to prise Ronaldo from Manchester United by next summer, according to an interview published Sunday with coach Bernd Schuster.

MADRID (AFP) - Real Madrid are still hoping to prise Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United by next summer, according to an interview published Sunday with coach Bernd Schuster.

"I think this year it will be a little complicated for his club to hang on to him," Schuster told Marca sports daily.

"We must do everything possible as it would be worth it to have this player," said Schuster, adding Real would pay a "very high price" for his services.

"There is no other solution as they'll not let him go on the cheap, I think," said German Schuster.

But he held out the possibility that the price might be less than the mooted 90 million euros which was in the public domain all summer after Ronaldo insisted Real were his dream club.

"Next year the price could be a little lower," Schuster said.

United boss Alex Ferguson refused to allow his top star to leave but recently commented he expected Real to resume the chase early next year, even if "the result will be the same" as the Portuguese starlet is under contract until 2012.

why can't those losers move on with their lives? No one player is worth all that. It's still a team sport.

They're Real Madrid. They think they own football if Blatter is sided with them.

Well in all this story the only ones to blame are Alex and Ronaldo . Alex attitude made all this , the same way he approaches other players , he must think that other teams too have the right to approach and buy his players if agrees the transfer price of course .

Ronaldo has made his choice , not to stay but he is forced to , he showed clearly that Real are more better club to play for than UTD which irritates Alex who think he has the best club too .

Tottenham let Berbatov leaving because he wanted to , they could do the same and not let him go , Real did the same with Robinho ...because they believe if you want to leave then go you are free ...and if you want to come say it and we will come to bring you , Cristiano said it he wanted to go may be Alex will realise what he has really to do !!

I think this whole "transfer" crap is ridiculous. Players should honor the contracts they sign. They can walk at the end of the contract if they are unhappy with their team. If a team no longer has a need for that player and wants to sell him, that's one thing, but I side with the team and not the players in these matters. The players get paid insane money that propably equates to more money than all of us combined and yet they still whine and whimper like wounded dogs.

No this is crap , a football player is not a slave ...He is a normal person too who has wishes lke everyone . I used to work for some firm , I signed the contract where I agreed for the salary ...after 2 years I realised I deserved better salary and higher place of course , I talk with my boss he didnt agree I changed the working place for a better one of course I warned them a month before , they have to find somebody to replace me . I wish the same for Ronaldo , ManU is looking somebody to take his place .

But guys if you dont agree that Ronaldo wants to quit then say it , I will understand you better and blame Real instead of blaming him...

Because of debts and need of money , I believe he will join Robinho in Man City and Man Utd wont let him go to Real ( if they are not ready to pay 100 m ).

But we all agree here that Cristiano wants to go .

Me too I believe Ronaldo is not interested to stay at United anymore , not nice the way how they keep him there ., and I wonder United fans who still believe he is happy there .Are they blind ?? Or are they stupid ??

Ronaldo is happy at United, you can see that on the pitch. In Real he have bigger concurrence. So it will be harder to continue his super star career, but also he will be under less pressure like everybody else who plays for real. And choice is 100% his. If it is truth that he said that his dream is to play for Real, he will.

Yesterday he played the most bad game of his life against Albania I guess Real will cut his transfer fee by half and still ManU will sell. Wish he will learn more in Madrid.

Real must buy him even if United asks for a 100 m !! It's like getting out of the jail and he deserves .
