LONDON (AFP) - England skipper John Terry, who has been suffering from a back injury, is still a doubtful starter for Saturday's World Cup qualifier with Kazakhstan at Wembley.

England's medical staff will continue to assess the Chelsea defender's fitness but Wes Brown, Matthew Upson and Joleon Lescott could all come into contention as a replacement.

Coach Fabio Capello also has an instant replacement as skipper, having named Rio Ferdinand as the vice-captain in August.
