Quick report: United and Villarreal through to next round
VILLARREAL/AALBORG (SW) - Manchester United and Villarreal are through to the next round of the Champions League following a goalless draw. Aalborg are a step closer to playing in the UEFA Cup after the winter break.
Villarreal and Manchester United knew that a draw would see both sides through to the round of sixteen, and that was exactly what happened as neither side made much of a difference in Spain.
Villarreal's Joan Capdevila was sent off in the final phase and misses the next group match.
Celtic took the lead against AaB Aalborg through Robson in the 53rd minute but Caca equalised twenty minutes later. The Danes were then helped a little as Caldwell scored an own goal with three minutes to go.
As a result, Aalborg will be playing in the UEFA Cup after the winter break while Celtic's European season has come to an end.
