Luis Fabiano celebrates Brazil's second goal

RIO DE JANEIRO (SW) - No less than eight goals were scored in Wednesday's international friendly between Brazil and Portugal.

Unfortunately for the Portuguese, they only managed to net two while Brazil impressed with six goals. The score was opened after just four minutes through Portugal's Danny but Luis Fabiano levelled another four minutes later.

The forwaded added another on 25 minutes and Maicon made it 3-1 in the 56th. Another two minutes later, Luis Fabiano netted his third to complete a hat-trick.

Simao then got one back for Portugal but goals from Blumer Elano and Adriano earned the South Americans a very comfortable 6-2 victory.

The win is Brazil's first over Portugal since 1996. Portugal won two of the three meetings since, one ended in a draw.

Wow...Portugal got their asses handed to them. Oh Well!!! I suppose Brazil was due against them. They hadn't won since '96 against them. Not enjoying Queiroz as head coach...he seems to be struggling to find the right mix of players.

Strong result, this was needed to end off the year.

We faced a weak Portugal side and smashed them.

Caution for reading result of friendly - Portugal are are a quality side and in an actual wc game with Brazil I don't think they would get beaten so easily. It could be that the loss of their manager is a major blow for Portugal.

Caution? Aha that's a joke!

IF this was a world cup match Brazil would actually try and beat Portugal 12-2....

Joga-Bonito, if yesterday's game against Portugal was the WC Finals, Brazil would not have score 6 goals, but they would have been scared of losing just like they were in 1994 against Italy. the score was 0 - 0. So, don't be stupid as usual!

Joga_Bonito, I would rather be a loser than a stupid person. One day I may win something, but stupid people never get smart.

PS. I don't hate you. I'm a good Catholic . . . . . . . . . LOL . . . . . . . . . DOL . . .

I just got a 99 percent in my accounting class. My average was 92. I'm the stupid one? I am one of the smartest in my grade.

So what was that????

I think Canada has a better chance at winning the World Cup then you winning anything.

Joga_Bonito, yours must be the donkeys's class . I have a B.A., Masters and PhD in Enlish language (though I make a few spelling errors). When you reach my educational level send me your personal achievements, but until then, be quite!

Hey Tonto, dont pay any mind to these stooges....First off Portugal will be fine. They likely viewed the match as nothing more than a vacation/fun match. As for Canada, they will be ready for the 2018 WC. Everyone that knows football is aware that the CSA(association) has been undeniably corrupt for years. However, with the TFC and future MLS expansion likely happening in Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa?, the ground roots skills level and talent will flourish. All they need to do is select good people to lead the CSA without all the politics and Canada will be as strong of a CONCACAF nation as their immediate powers of Mexico and the USA.
