Theo Walcott

LONDON (SW) - Arsenal striker Theo Walcott suffered an injury in training and won't be fit in time for England's friendly with Germany on Wednesday.

The youngster hurt his shoulder and might also miss Arsenal's Premiership game with Manchester City next weekend.

The news comes at a very bad moment for England manager Fabio Capello, who already had severe injury worries to deal with as several star players are unavailable for this clash.

The list of absentees includes Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole and Frank Lampard.

seriously, why are we still talking about this kid...he is another british media hyped flash in the pan, just like Rooney, Beckham, Owen, and the likes. Last truly international worthy talent to come out of England with pure footballing skills was Paul Gasgoigne. Current players that are potential future legends would include only: Gerard and maybe Lampard...that's it.

As much as the press do hype any promising talent there is always people like DaJonner who feel the need to try putting them down again which i feel is stupid, get behind the kid for goodness sake. You must of forgotten the hat trick against croatia?!!Lampard and Gerrard will never be remembered in same way that REAL legends are ie Moore,Hurst,Charlton etc etc

DaJohnner, Rooney and Beckham are not "hyped flashes in the pan" they're still very good players and maybe you should give Walcott more time before you start bashing him. He is an upcoming, very good English Player

I don't think that Beckam or Owen are over-hyped. They proved themself when they moved abroad and did well for Real Madrid. I DO think however that Rooney and walcott are overhyped however, especially Rooney.

As for Gerrard and Lampatrd, They are already legends in their respective clubs. The only reason guys like Charlton and Moore will be remembered is cos of the fluke world cup victory in 1966.

BINGO....you nailed the so called legends of the '66 era. As for Beckham and Rooney...I didnt call them flashes in the pan NOW...they have always been overhyped for their respective skill levels, unlike Gerard and Lampard which have enough skill and class to beccome legends once they retire. Will they be as popular as Charlton and co., probably not cause they will not be able to steal a WC title before they retire. And finally, as I mentioned earlier...Walcott will not pan out as a star player regardless of his age. He has little to no skill, and the older he gets, the slower he will be, making him even less useful. As for the Croatia game...anyone can have a miracle night...what has he done since? EXACTLY!!!!!!!

i have to say DaJonner i believe you are a complete moron.Walcott has improved immensely this season and he is still only 19 and shouldnt be expected to score hat tricks in every game!Nobody in the world does that,as for saying Lampard will be remembered as an England legend i believe you need to stop eating magic mushrooms as you seem very deluded pal.
