LISBON (SW) - Galatasaray have extended their lead in UEFA Cup Group B with a 0-2 win at Benfica in Portugal.

Asik broke the deadlock in Turkish favor after 52 minutes, and Karan doubled the advantage in the 69th.

Galatasaray have six points from two games, while Benfica have only collected one point so far. Hertha BSC are second after today's scoreless draw with Metalist Kharkiv.

DaJohnner, are you taking a leave of absence?

What's wrong with Benfica?

Didn't watch the game, but I suspect that they lacked any offensive punch. They are still gelling as a team and have some ways to go still, hopefully they can figure things out sooner rather than later. Disappointing result and hopefully they can win from here on is as the toughest of their group competition is over and done with. Only time will tell I guess.

I find it said that Benfica, one of the aristocrats of European soccer, should have fallen on such hard times.

It would be great to see this club back to their former glory.

Yes indeed We were too strong for Benfica. Honestly we doesn't play well in our super league but yesterday we showed our best performance of the season so far. Proud of you "Istanbul Lions" , i hope u keep that great teamwork and play at the weekend versus Fenerbahce.

And guys u should watch whole game, not highlights if u have chance. There is nothing wrong Benfica, Galatasaray is too good. We can beat any team in europe with that great performance. Cheers!!!!

Sefacancan, Ok, your team played well, but I have my doubts as far as Galatasaray being "too good" for Benfica. DaJohnner tells me that Benfica's new players are still trying to gell. His version seem more credible at this time! I don't wish to rain on your parade, but Benfica didn't have a good game last night.

Da Johnner, considering the way I've been spelling words these days anything will do. But yes, the correct spelling is "grazie"

I watched most of this match and Galatasaray was most definitely the better team. And that is coming from a Fenerbahce fan.
