OBLAST (SW) - Rubin Kazan have won the Russian championship for the first time ever. A 1-2 victory at Saturn Mosk Oblast was enough to secure the title.
At Rubin's only remaining rivals, CSKA Moscow dropped points on Saturday, the match with Saturn Mosk became the first opportunity to decide the championship.
Adamov finally broke the deadlock for the league leaders after 73 minutes, but Nemov ended premature celebrations only five minutes later.
But the late winner did come. Milosevic netted for 1-2 with just three minutes to go, and secured the championship.
Rubin now have 60 points from 27 games, ten points more than CSKA Moscow. With just three games to go, those ten points can never be overcome.
