Former Hearts striker Roman Bednar

Newly promoted West Bromwich Albion have signed Czech Republic striker Roman Bednar from Scotland’s Premier League side Heart Of Midlothian.

He had been on loan from Hearts for the 2007/8 season and the deal has now been ratified and has been declared permanent.

During the season he scored seventeen goals in thirty four matches for West Brom, thereby assisting the club to win the Championship title as well as to reach the FA Cup semi finals.

He is likely to join Luke Moore up front who was signed by the club’s manager Tony Mowbray from Aston Villa earlier this week for ₤3 million.
