Dave Cohen - 31 May 2008 18:43

Fernando Torres of Liverpool being introduced to the club by manager Rafael Benitez prior to the kick off of the 2007/8 English Premier League

Twenty four year old Liverpool and Spanish striker Fernando Torres has stated categorically that he has no intention of leaving Liverpool.

After an excellent first season with ‘The Reds’ the striker has been targeted by many of Europe’s bigger sides, including Chelsea who are believed to be keen to splash ₤50 million for him.

Whilst he is in the centre of much speculation during the off – season, he is currently in training with the Spanish squad as they prepare for Euro 2008.

The scorer of twenty four goals for Liverpool in the Premier League this season has said that he still has much to owe manager Rafael Benitez who has always stood by him.

He concluded by saying that he had enjoyed every minute of his season at Anfield and has no intention of leaving the club even though he felt honoured by the way in which many of the bigger clubs have linked themselves to him.
