Michael Laudrup will leave Getafe CF at the end of the season, having been in charge of the Madrid-based club for ten months since taking over from Bernd Schuster.
Announcing his decision prior to Getafe's last Primera División game of the season against Real Betis Balompié on Sunday, the 43-year-old former Denmark international said: "Each person must choose their moment to make decisions and I think that my moment has arrived now. This is a team that goes through big changes every year - it's something that works well. Last year 12 or 13 new players arrived and according to what I've been told the same will happen again this year."
A former coach at Brøndby IF, Laudrup had an eventful season in Spain. Getafe secured their top flight status for another year and narrowly missed out on a place in the UEFA Cup semi-finals following an extra-time defeat to FC Bayern München. The side from the suburbs of Madrid also reached their second successive Copa del Rey final only to lose to Valencia CF.
