Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro has thrown his considerable weight behind the clamour for the inclusion of veteran striker Alessandro Del Piero in the country´s Euro 2008 squad.
We presently have an abundance of good Italian players, all worthy of inclusion in the national team for Euro 2008. I would personally leave Del Piero at home and rather include Pippo Inzaghi, or Antonio Cassano. Who knows, maybe Donadoni will do that anyway.
And Fabio Cannavaro is not over-rated, he's still one of the best defenders in the world and he is a great captain for the Italian national team.
With Inzaghi on the field Italy will practically play with 10 men as he never takes part in the game outside the keeprs box, waiting there for a lucky deflection and more often than not he's unlucky. Normally he misses 7 out of 10 100% goal occasions but since Milan traditionally has some of the world's best midfielders he manages to mass a fair number of scores. Can Italy afford playing with 10 men and qualify from the most difficult group? It's interesting to see what Donadoni's decision will be.

Such filial piety in the Italian men's national team! Remember when Baggio played a few minutes with his grey-haired mullet?ahmedabdo May 13rd, 2008 21:37
however Del Piero has done well this season, and while we can't see a good Italian stricker beside Toni, i think he deserves to be there.BesTalentScout May 14th, 2008 04:18
del Piero deserve his place more than the over-rated Cannavaro.....................Giorgio May 14th, 2008 10:29
