Stanislav Vlček and Jelle Van Damme were on target to ensure they finished seven points behind champions R. Standard de Liège, who won 2-0 at KRC Genk in their final match. The weekend was overshadowed by the death of Club Brugge KV striker François Sterchele in a car crash in the early hours of Thursday morning.
