I want to finish my career at Inter, says Vieira
ROME (AFP) - France captain Patrick Vieira claimed in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday that he intends to finish his career with Italian champions Inter Milan.
Vieira has had a frustrating season with injuries but he is back in the side for the crucial Serie A run-in, beginning with Sunday's eagerly-anticipated Milan derby against AC.
The 31-year-old midfielder joined Inter in 2006 after his previous club Juventus were demoted for match-fixing.
Vieira had won the title in his only season with the Old Lady of Turin after nine years at Arsenal but was stripped of that crown due to the scandal.
Asked by Gazzetta if he wanted to stay at Inter, he replied: "Yes, without a shadow of doubt.
"I am really at ease here from all points of view. On the technical level we have all it takes to continue to dominate the championship."
Vieira described this weekend's derby as special and more important than those he was involved in with the Gunners, against their arch rivals Tottenham.
"We're playing for the title and them for a place in the Champions League, what an atmosphere!" he said.
"I'm loving the pressure, it's this type of match that I live for."
Vieira put his injury problems down to bad luck and dismissed concerns over his long-term fitness.
"At Arsenal I never had any problems. It makes me laugh when I hear that I have to chose which matches I play in.
"I train every day to play in every match and the more I play the better I feel."
