Napoli goalkeeper Matteo Gianello, who has appeared 14 times this season due to an injury to first-choice Gennaro Iezzo, has been handed a new contract running until 2011.

The 31-year-old signed in 2004 from AC Siena and has also played for AC Chievo Verona, UC Sampdoria, Hellas-Verona FC and AS Cisco Calcio Roma.
