Domenech has named a 39-man France squad

20 March 2008 11:40

France coach Raymond Domenech has named a 39-man squad for next week's Paris friendly against England and the B international with Mali.

Domenech is determined "not to miss anyone out" so will have a larger-than-usual selection for the England game at the Stade de France on 26 March as well as the Mali match at Stade Sebastien Charléty the day before. There are four uncapped players included – VfB Stuttgart's Matthieu Delpierre and fellow defender Adil Rami of LOSC Lille Métropole, Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Mathieu Bodmer and Olympique de Marseille playmaker Mathieu Valbuena.

They get the chance to stake a claim for a place at EURO 2008 along with recalled players such as Manchester United FC striker Louis Saha, last capped in October 2006, and on-loan Lille midfielder Rio Antonio Mavuba. But Willy Sagnol and David Trezeguet are notable omissions.
