Palermo's 41-year-old goalkeeper Alberto Fontana has signed a new one-year contract keeping him at the Serie A club until 2009.

Fontana, recruited from AC Chievo Verona in 2006, has made 25 league appearances this season and will play on for at least another campaign. During his top-flight career Fontana has also played for AS Bari, AC Cesena, Atalanta BC, SSC Napoli and FC Internazionale Milano.
